Can I extend the charger cables on my marine charger?
Yes, you can extend the charger cables. But, you should do so by adding the cable at the end (where the battery connection is) and not into the casing where the red/black cables emerge from. The charger may have features such as temperature sensors in the cable, and if you accidentally cut into this the charger might not operate correctly.

Should I charge my battery when my boat is not in use?
Yes, you should keep it maintained. Batteries need to be used through regular discharging and charging to keep them healthy. Boats that are stored without being plugged in to shore power for weeks or months at a time will slowly have their batteries discharge. Keeping them maintained when not in use will prolong their life. It can also be a good idea to occasionally unplug from power and run some accessories for a few hours to give the batteries some use.
