What makes Shorai batteries different?
A: They contain Shorai-proprietary eXtreme-Rate Lithium Iron prismatic cells (chemistry LiFEPO4). They contain no poisonous lead, no dangerous acid, and do not create explosive gases during charge, as traditional Lead-Acid batteries do. Compared to traditional batteries, Shorai lithium batteries are extremely light, have a much lower self-discharge rate, do not sulfate, and are environmentally friendly.
Can I use Lead-Acid battery chargers or charger/tenders?
A: Yes. However, you may not use a charger/tender if it has an automatic desulfation mode, which cannot be turned off. We have confirmed with Deltran, makers of the Battery Tender brand, that their products do not have a desulfation mode and are therefore okay for use with Shorai batteries.
Can the Shorai LFM18A1-BS12 be mounted in any position?
A: Yes. There are no liquids in these batteries.
What's the difference between the "equivalent" and "Actual" Ah capacity?
A: The manufacturer includes the "equivalent" (PbEq, "lead equivalent") rating to show a more apples-to-apples comparison between the lithium chemistry and the lead-acid battery that you're likely replacing.
How does the Shorai LFM18A1-BS12 perform in cold weather?
A: This battery performs well in cold temperatures, but it may need a quick warm-up for best results. Turning on your headlights or another accessory for 30 seconds to a few minutes, depending on how cold it is, helps improve the starting power. Ensuring that the battery is fully charged will also help with first-start performance in cold weather.

Great fit and plenty of power to start my 2007 Ducati Monster S2R1000. I'm hopeful that the battery will have a long service life, given that it is solid state.
I've used Shorai batteries for some. time. I have a 1960 H.D. panhead and many years ago made my own oil tank.
I a have a 6 inch width and this battery has plenty of room.
Also carries quite a punch. (270 CCA) I designed a kick assist starter and easily starts the bike.

The battery was easy to order, a fair price, adequate shipping time and packaging was excellent. It was a tight fit in my R6 but, it did fit well. After 3 weeks it is still operating correctly.
Fabulous batteries. This is my 2nd & I'm pretty sure the 1st died, after many years, from neglect. I've a '00 VFR & AGM batteries lasted months before cooking dead in the Phoenix heat in a very hot compartment w/ a high charge rate. The Shorai Li-Fe battery lasted for Years (like maybe 7-ish) before giving up & likely from not keeping it charged for the last couple when I'd quite riding (lots to none). The new one is like the 1st; Fabulous product (let me say again FABULOUS product) presented w/ perfect detail for a great install (down to the foam pads on the nuts to keep them in place while connecting the cables) w/ great support & thoughtful implementation at every turn. You're a Class Act Shorai!
Yup, you're going to pay for that experience - Twice the cost for at least 7 times the battery (factor in the way better performance on top of longevity & that doubles).
