Shorai LFM14L2-BS12 vs. Lead-Acid: Why Lead-Acid Can't Compete
Lead-acid batteries degrade whether you use them or not. Sulfation, slow self-discharge, and sensitivity to deep discharge are all built into the chemistry. Shorai's LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells work differently:

All warranty claims for products purchased and delivered within the United States are handled directly by Shorai Service LLC only. Battery Mart can only provide information for getting in contact with Shorai for warranty claims. See the Warranty Form for online submission of warranty claims and to get your Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA#) assignment. Replacement batteries are to be issued by Shorai and sent directly to the customer. No dealership is authorized to issue a replacement battery without prior written authorization from Shorai.
Please do NOT return any product to Shorai without an RMA# or before Shorai has contacted you. In many cases, issues can be solved prior to return.

Will this battery fit my motorcycle or powersport vehicle?
A: The LFM14L2-BS12 uses "L" polarity (negative terminal on the left) in a Case Type 2 footprint (4.45" x 2.28" x 3.50"). It replaces a wide range of OEM batteries including the YTX7L-BS, YB10L-B, YB10L-B2, YB9L-B, YTZ7S, and YTZ8V. Can I charge the Shorai LFM14L2-BS12 with my existing lead-acid battery charger?
A: Most standard chargers are compatible, but there's one important exception: do not use any charger with an automatic desulfation mode that cannot be turned off. That mode can damage a lithium battery. Your bike's stock charging system works fine as long as it outputs at least 13.1V at idle and doesn't exceed 15.2V at full output. For storage charging, a lithium-compatible smart charger is the safest option.
Does the LFM14L2-BS12 battery arrive ready to use?
A: No. Lithium batteries are required by shipping regulations to arrive at approximately 30% charge. You'll need to charge the battery fully before first use. A lithium-compatible charger is recommended for that initial charge
How does this battery perform in cold weather?
A: Lithium batteries can take slightly longer to reach peak output in very cold temperatures compared to lead-acid. Most riders in moderate climates report no issues. If you're regularly starting in freezing or sub-freezing conditions, it's worth knowing that a brief warm-up period may help, and a lithium-compatible battery tender during the off-season is a good practice.
What is the difference between equivalent and actual amp-hour capacity?
A: The equivalent, or PbEq, rating helps compare a lithium battery to the lead-acid battery it replaces. Although the battery’s actual amp-hour capacity is lower, lithium batteries can use more of their stored energy without damage, giving them usable capacity and starting performance comparable to a higher-rated lead-acid battery.

I really like the size of the battery. It's really light and compact and it comes included with foam pieces that you could stick into the battery box that allows the battery to be secured in place.
