Product Description
If you've ever wrestled a heavy lead-acid battery out of a tight battery box, you already know the frustration. The EarthX ETX18B lithium LiFePO4 powersports battery weighs just 2.2 lbs, which is 70–80% lighter than a comparable lead-acid. For sport bike builds, café racers, and track-day machines, that weight difference is immediately felt in handling and acceleration.
And it doesn't just save weight. With a nominal 13.2V and 230 cold cranking amps, the ETX18B delivers more starting power than a conventional 12.6V lead-acid. Customers report confident, near-instant starts on everything from 650cc dual-sports to 900cc café racers and Ducati superbikes.
The Battery That Protects Itself
Most lithium powersports batteries leave out the one thing that protects them most. The ETX18B includes a fully integrated Battery Management System (BMS) built directly into the case. It continuously monitors and balances each cell, blocks dangerous over-charge and over-discharge events, and safeguards against heat buildup from prolonged cranking. No special balancing charger needed.
That same BMS is what makes the ETX18B compatible with most modern smart chargers. You don't need to buy new charging equipment in most cases.
Built for Riders Who Store Their Bikes
Lead-acid batteries are notorious for dying during the off-season. The ETX18B holds its charge for six months or more without a tender, making it well-suited for riders who store their bikes seasonally. And over the long haul, lithium iron phosphate chemistry simply outlasts lead-acid:
- Up to 4,000 charge cycles versus roughly 350 for lead-acid
- Operating range of -22°F to 140°F — no freezing, no boilover
- No sulfation, no acid, no lead
- Full non-prorated 2-year warranty included
Built in the USA, Rated the Right Way
EarthX designs and assembles their batteries in the United States. Their CCA ratings follow SAE standards, so the 230 CCA listed here is a true apples-to-apples comparison with any lead-acid battery you're replacing. No inflated numbers based on foreign testing standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the EarthX ETX18B compatible with my motorcycle?
A: The ETX18B is designed to replace many popular OEM lead-acid batteries, including the Yuasa YT12B-BS, YT14B-BS, YTX14AH-BS, YTX14AHL-BS, YB16AL-A2, and several others. Check the cross-reference list on this page to confirm your specific make and model. Some applications may require the EarthX Terminal Adapter Kit, which is sold separately.
Do I need a special lithium charger for the ETX18B?
A: In most cases, no. The built-in BMS makes the ETX18B compatible with modern smart chargers designed for lead-acid batteries, provided they charge at 14.4V or lower. Older chargers with desulfation or high-voltage pulse modes should be avoided. A smart charger like the NOCO Genius series is a reliable and safe pairing.
What comes in the box, and how hard is it to install?
A: Each ETX18B includes two terminal adapters, two 6mm screws, and foam spacers to fill any extra space in your battery box. Installation is straightforward: remove the old battery, position the foam shims as needed, connect the terminals (right-positive orientation), and you're ready to go. No special tools are required.
Can I use the ETX18B on a Harley-Davidson?
A: The ETX18B will power Harley-Davidson bikes during normal riding. However, many Harley models have a continuous parasitic draw from their electronics, which can slowly drain any battery during long storage periods. If you plan to store your Harley for an extended time, we recommend using a compatible battery maintainer to prevent deep discharge.

Customer Reviews
Fast service and great products.
I bought this battery for a Cafe racer motorcycle project and it has TONS of juice. It is able to easily crank my 900cc bike and still fit into the palm of my hand. As always I recommend checking your required CCA not just CA when looking for a battery. This battery also went dead from being used without an active stator (my fault) and I was able to easily recharge it with a 2 amp conventional battery charger. So far I am more than happy with this purchase and will recommend EarthX to anyone looking for a compact lithium ion battery that is safe and efficient.
Cranked my Ducati SS without an issue
Bought for my KLR650. Smaller, lighter, and more powerful than stock and no maintenance. Battery Mart shipped quick.
Easy installation on my Ducati 749, perfect fit using supplied fillers and adapters, cranks my baby like no other battery I tried
These lithium ion batteries are truly amazing. Light weight and smaller. I had to use the spacing blocks provided.. my Yamaha vmax starter cranks faster and starts immediately even after sitting for extended periods. I installed lithium batteries in all three of my bikes and never had any issues.
I was using Ballistic Battery's in my 1974 kick only Harley sportsters that I converted to electric start, i wanted to keep the original battery boxes, with Ballistic I had mixed results, with the EarthX it spines the old iron head with little effort, I am a EarthX fan for sure
