Tech Tip: Easy Side Mount Installations
This battery is supplied with unique terminal hardware (2 spacers and 2 bolts for cable to terminal connection). This hardware is required for proper installation on certain applications. Other hardware may damage terminals and should not be used. The spacers are required for side mount cable installation only! The top mount position does not require the round spacers, use supplied bolts only. Torque bolts to 6 to 8 ft. lbs.
How A Side Mount Looks when Installed:
Best bang for the buck, good battery and good price! Having four bikes, this is my fourth one.
Product as described. Very fast shipping. Would use this company again.
Nice battery, completely sealed, and lots of cranking power. Can play the radio for over an hour and still starts with no problems
Great price for a strong American made battery! Delivery was very fast and free!
Very Fast Service, Strong battery, Great Price
I bought my big crank here about 3 years ago and it is still going strong! Battery arrived fast and safe and worked right out of the box soon as installed! When a normal lead acid on a different bike just suddenly died I had to pay almost as much for another plain lead acid as I paid for my big crank! Big crank is a much better battery!
I do lots of riding year round, many big trips 1,000 miles or more,, but at times my bikes do sit for a month or 2 at a time, and often for a week or more. I never use a maintainer or anything and even if the bike is a bit hard to start after sitting extended time the big crack cranks and cracks and cranks! A 1500 Goldwing SE is not a small engine and has tons of lights on when key is on for cranking so that is a big job for a battery!
Not to say I never had a dead battery, I have but it was my fault or the bikes fault, not the battery! A couple times something was left turn on on the bike and drained the battery, and once my brake lights were on on my trailer for days while parked I did not know it. So on several occasions my Big Crank was TOTALLY DEAD, but it charged right back up and worked good as new!
I am here now writing this review because I thought I finally destroyed my Big Crank, BUT I was WRONG!
I let the Goldwing sit about 2 weeks and battery was totally DEAD. When I jump started it and once running I found my alternator was dead. Big Crank sat there dead for about a month till I had time and parts to fix bike yesterday. Once jum,p started bike was trying to charge but the battery was a heavy load and did not seem to be taking a charge. I thought dang I killed it! I put it on a regular 10 amp charger and for about an hour or more the charger showed about 14 amps charging on the gauge and was not going down. I just left it over night that way. This morning charger showed only about 2amps charging so I put the Big Crank back in bike and it worked great! Battery started the bike right up just like new, I started it several times fine. I let bike sit a few minutes with all the lights on for a drain and volt meter showed battery holding charge well and then bike started right up again when I tried it.
Normally I would not let a dead battery sit like that but I had no tools or charger at the time to do anything, not even to remove the battery, everything I had was at another house where I was working on another bike for a friend.
Time will tell if this is still a good battery or if I killed it. Right now it is holding a good charge and taking charge well TODAY, but will it hold the charge well or go dead sitting for a couple days? I think it is fine, I hope so, but at least it has been a trouble free maintenance free battery for nearly 3 years even being somewhat abused over those years. All of my bikes will get Big Cranks when I need new batteries for them! I also love the fact I never need to add water or anything to them. Just install them and forget them!
Bought this battery and it was shipped quickly and worked right out of the box. Starts my 95 FLHR easily. Felt better paying a few bucks more for an American made battery.
