- Charges AGM batteries. To charge GEL batteries, move the switch located on the front end of the charger to the GEL position.
- For AGM batteries, the charger provides three charging states. The charger monitors and controls both output voltage and current of the charger through these states.
- High Current Fast Charge State: Battery charges at a 3,500mA fast charge current rate until battery voltage reaches 29.6V
- Topping Charge State: Battery charges at 29.6V constant voltage and current begins to taper until current is less than 500mA.
- Precision Float Charge State: The charger changes to the float state and holds battery voltage at 27.4V.
- For GEL batteries, the charger provides the prior charging states and also monitors and controls both output voltage and current. The voltages are lower due to the GEL chemistry.
- High Current Fast Charge State: Battery charges at a 3,500mA fast charge current rate until battery voltage reaches 28.6V
- Topping Charge State: Battery charges at 28.6V constant voltage and current begins to taper until current is less than 500mA.
- Precision Float Charge State: The charger changes to the float state and holds battery voltage at 26.6V.
- Note: For battery maintenance, this charger is equipped with "Auto-Restate" that will resume charging when the battery voltage drops to 25.3VDC.

This charger automatically shuts off when the battery charging is complete. Charging times vary greatly depending on the battery's state of charge and its maximum capacity.
