When I first received the battery, I checked to see if it would fit in the charger for my 25-year-old Black & Decker Sawzall. It fit perfectly, and the LED came on to indicate that it was charging.
I then tried fitting it onto the saw itself, and that’s where I ran into a problem. The battery wouldn’t click into place because the saw has a plastic ridge around the outer perimeter where the battery and tool connect. I got out my oscillating saw and carefully trimmed about 1/8" of material away from the tool. After working on it for a while, I was finally able to get the battery to fit properly, click into place, and hold securely.
After charging the battery for about 8 hours, I used it once and it worked well. It held a charge for a surprisingly good amount of time. After the second full charge, the battery actually seems even stronger.
Overall, once I made the necessary modification to the saw, the battery has worked very well so far. Just be aware that it may require some modification to older Black & Decker tools to get the battery to fit properly.
