Did the trick. I'd trust to buy this again if the opportunity ever occurred.
Battery was a very tight fit. The outer case (when compared to an oem battery) was about .5mm bigger in almost every dimension. This means that it fit into my psp fat snuggly, but I had to cram it into the psp slim (with the bigger battery door) to be able to get the door shut. Run time wasn't very impressive. Did a torture test on this battery next to my stock sony 1800mah, and found that the sony battery ran for almost 5 hours. Where this battery only could achieve 3.5 hours. I haven't been using it long enough to test the longevity. But it appears to be better than most of the Chinese knockoff batteries out there. It also has similar weight to the oem battery, which is a good thing.
I recommend an external full cover and leave the battery exposed. I got one of those transparent full PSP plastic covers and it fits perfectly!
I sifted through a lot of PSP batteries before I decided to get this PSP 1000 battery. It's near impossible to get a good working PSP battery on the market now a days that isn't OEM. Even then the only ones you can find are for the PSP 2000 and 3000. I wanted a PSP battery that had more storage than the OEM PSP 2000 and 3000 battery so I got this one and made use of an extended battery back. Now instead of getting 3 - 4 hours of battery life I get a whopping 7 hours of battery life in a single charge! I'm immensely happy with this purchase and I encourage anyone looking for a good replacement to purchase this battery.
Seems decent so far but it is slightly too big, preventing the cover on my psp-1001 from going on properly.
After several attempts to find a decent PSP 1000 replacement battery, I came across this site. Honestly a great battery! Performs just like the original Sony battery. It gets over 8 hours a charge, and it is great quality. Couldn’t ask for more, especially for such an old gaming system.
