The Peg Perego MECB0111 is the official 24-volt charger for all Peg Perego 24V ride-on vehicles. It's the charger used with both yellow battery packs — the IAKB0522 (12Ah, used in the Gaucho Super Power, Polaris Sportsman series, and Polaris Ranger RZR) and the IAKB0529 (8Ah, used in the John Deere Gator XUV 6x4). One charger for every Peg Perego 24V vehicle, regardless of which battery pack is installed. If your original charger has stopped working, gone missing, or was never included with a used vehicle purchase, the MECB0111 is the correct replacement.

The only charger for Peg Perego's 24V lineup

Unlike the 6V and 12V segments of the Peg Perego lineup — where different chargers serve different vehicles — Peg Perego uses a single standard charger across all of their 24V vehicles. The MECB0111 is that charger. It doesn't matter whether your vehicle takes the larger IAKB0522 or the smaller IAKB0529; the MECB0111 handles both. This also means that if you own two 24V Peg Perego vehicles, one charger covers them both.

Calibrated for sealed lead-acid 24V batteries

The MECB0111 is engineered specifically for Peg Perego's 24V sealed AGM battery chemistry — not a universal charger adapted with a compatible plug. It delivers a steady 1A charge rate and terminates automatically once the battery reaches full capacity. Generic 24V chargers designed for mobility scooters or electric wheelchairs use different charge profiles and different termination thresholds — and while the connector may match, the charge behavior won't. Using the wrong charger over months of use quietly degrades a sealed lead-acid battery well before it should need replacing. The MECB0111 eliminates that risk.

Charge times: what to expect

The MECB0111 charges at approximately 1A (1000mAh). What that means in practice depends on which battery you're charging:

  • IAKB0529 (8Ah — Gator XUV 6x4): Approximately 8 hours for a full charge from completely depleted. Plug in after dinner; ready before bedtime.
  • IAKB0522 (12Ah — all other 24V models): Approximately 12 hours for a full charge from completely depleted. A natural overnight charger.

In everyday use, batteries rarely drain completely during a single session, so typical recharge times are shorter than these maximums. The indicator light will confirm when the battery is fully charged regardless.

A note on part numbers

The MECB0111 has been sold under several different part numbers over the years. MECB0121U and MECB0212 are the most common alternates — all three are the same charger at different points in production. You may also see it referenced by the codes 25200015 or 24VMPAF in older documentation. If the charger that came with your vehicle carries any of those numbers, the MECB0111 is the correct current replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which batteries does this charger work with?

The MECB0111 is compatible with both of Peg Perego's 24V yellow battery packs: the IAKB0522 (12Ah, used in the Gaucho Super Power, Polaris Sportsman 800 and 850 Twin, Polaris Ranger RZR, and other 24V models) and the IAKB0529 (8Ah, used exclusively in the John Deere Gator XUV 6x4). It is not compatible with 12V batteries (which use the MECB0086U or IKCB0082) or 6V batteries (which use the MECB0085U).

How do I know if my vehicle uses a 24V battery?

Peg Perego color-codes their batteries by voltage: 24V batteries have a yellow case, 12V batteries have a blue case, and 6V batteries have a green case. If the battery in your vehicle has a yellow case, the MECB0111 is the correct charger. You can also check your vehicle's model number against the compatibility list on this page.

How long does a full charge take?

It depends on which battery you're charging. The MECB0111 charges at approximately 1A (1000mAh). For the IAKB0529 (8Ah, Gator XUV 6x4), a fully depleted battery takes about 8 hours to reach a complete charge. For the IAKB0522 (12Ah, all other 24V models), a fully depleted battery takes about 12 hours. In everyday use, batteries rarely drain completely during a single session, so typical recharge times are shorter. The indicator light will confirm when charging is complete.

My charger says MECB0121U or MECB0212, not MECB0111. Is it the same?

Yes. The MECB0111, MECB0121U, and MECB0212 are the same Peg Perego 24V charger produced under different part numbers at different points in time. They are functionally identical in every way. The MECB0111 is the designation used by Battery Mart; your vehicle may have shipped with one of the other numbers on the label. All are correct replacements for each other.

Is it safe to leave the charger plugged in overnight?

Yes. The MECB0111 terminates automatically once the battery reaches full capacity, and the indicator light will confirm when charging is complete. It is not designed for indefinite float charging, however — once the light shows a full charge, best practice is to unplug the charger rather than leaving it connected for extended periods. This is particularly relevant for the IAKB0529, which reaches a full charge in about 8 hours and would otherwise sit connected for much longer in an overnight charge scenario.

Should I remove the battery from the vehicle to charge it?

No. Peg Perego 24V vehicles have a dedicated charging port that routes directly to the battery inside the vehicle. Plug the MECB0111 into the vehicle's charging port and into a wall outlet — there is no need to open the battery compartment or disconnect the battery harness for routine charging.

Can one charger handle two vehicles?

Yes, in the sense that a single MECB0111 can charge any Peg Perego 24V vehicle — just not simultaneously. If you own two 24V Peg Perego vehicles (for example, a Gaucho Super Power and a Gator XUV 6x4), one MECB0111 charges both. You'd simply charge one at a time. If you need both batteries topped off at the same time, a second charger would be needed.
