Product Description
The Peg Perego IAKB0522 is the official 24-volt replacement battery for Peg Perego's most powerful ride-on vehicles. It's the battery used in the Gaucho Super Power, Polaris Sportsman 800 and 850 Twin, Polaris Ranger RZR, and several other 24V models — all the high-performance machines designed for kids who want real speed and the ability to tackle grass, gravel, and uneven terrain. If your vehicle is listed in the compatibility section below, this is the battery you need. It ships fully charged and is ready to install right out of the box.
Why 24 volts?
Peg Perego's 24V vehicles represent their top tier of ride-on performance. Running at twice the voltage of the standard 12V lineup, these machines deliver faster top speeds, better hill-climbing ability, and stronger overall motor performance. That extra capability demands a more substantial battery, and the IAKB0522 delivers — at 12Ah, it provides ample capacity to keep up with a full afternoon of riding.
Dual-battery design in one sealed pack
The IAKB0522 achieves its 24-volt output by housing two 12-volt 12Ah sealed AGM batteries wired in series inside a single yellow case. What looks like one battery from the outside is actually two cells working together — a design that simplifies installation while providing the voltage these vehicles require. The tamper-resistant yellow case keeps the internal connections shielded and prevents little hands from accessing the battery terminals. The sealed construction means no maintenance, no acid to handle, and no leaks.
Don't confuse it with the IAKB0529
Peg Perego makes two 24-volt yellow battery packs, and they look very similar on the outside — but they are not interchangeable:
- IAKB0522 — This battery. 24V 12Ah. Physically larger. Fits the Gaucho Super Power, Polaris Sportsman 800 & 850 Twin, Polaris Ranger RZR, and other 24V models.
- IAKB0529 — A different, physically smaller 24V 8Ah battery. Used exclusively in the John Deere Gator XUV 6x4 (IGOD0522). The IAKB0522 will not fit in that vehicle.
The quickest way to confirm which battery you need is to locate your vehicle's model number, typically on a sticker under the seat or on the frame, and compare it to the compatibility list on this page.
Caring for your battery
The IAKB0522 will perform best with a few simple habits. Charge it after every use with a compatible Peg Perego 24V charger. Before storing the vehicle for winter or any extended break, charge the battery fully and then disconnect it from the vehicle's wire harness — a battery left connected will slowly lose charge even when the toy is switched off. Give it a maintenance charge every three months during storage to prevent deep discharge, which can permanently reduce battery capacity. With proper care, expect two to three years of reliable service.
Keep your Peg Perego battery healthy
We ship out all Peg Perego batteries fully charged. However, we recommend that you have the Peg Perego charger to keep it healthy.
It's a good idea to recharge the battery every three months when the toy is not in use. This is important during the Winter when the toy might sit for extended periods of time. Keeping the battery maintained will make sure that when the toy is being used again, it'll run for a long time.
After use, you should charge the batteries immediately. You should never run down batteries and let them sit in a discharged condition for long. If they sit for too long, there's a good possibility they'll never power the toy for as long as it should. So, keep the batteries charged and maintained!
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I confirm this is the right battery for my vehicle?
Check your vehicle's model number — it's usually on a sticker located under the seat or on the frame. Compare it to the confirmed compatibility list on this page. If your model number is listed, the IAKB0522 is the correct battery. If your vehicle is the John Deere Gator XUV 6x4 (IGOD0522), you need the smaller IAKB0529 instead — the IAKB0522 is too large and will not fit.
What's the difference between the IAKB0522 and the IAKB0529?
Both are 24-volt yellow Peg Perego battery packs, but they are different sizes and are not interchangeable. The IAKB0522 is the larger pack — 24V 12Ah — used in the Gaucho Super Power, Polaris Sportsman series, Polaris Ranger RZR, and other 24V models. The IAKB0529 is the smaller pack — 24V 8Ah — used only in the John Deere Gator XUV 6x4 (IGOD0522). Installing the wrong battery in either vehicle is not possible due to the size difference, but verifying before purchasing saves time and return shipping.
What charger does this battery use?
Use only the Peg Perego 24V charger (model MECB0121U) that came with your vehicle, or a compatible replacement. Standard 12V chargers will not work with this battery. Most aftermarket 24V chargers are designed for mobility equipment and use incompatible connectors and output levels. Using the wrong charger can permanently damage the battery.
How long does a full charge last?
Run time varies based on terrain, rider weight, and driving style. On flat, hard surfaces you can generally expect around 1 to 2 hours of ride time per charge. Rougher terrain, grass, and inclines will shorten that. Keeping a spare battery on hand and swapping it out mid-session is a popular option for families who want uninterrupted playtime.
Can I leave the battery in the vehicle when it's not being used?
For short gaps between uses, leaving it connected is fine. For storage periods longer than a few days — particularly over winter — it's best to disconnect the battery from the vehicle's wire harness. Even with the vehicle switched off, a connected battery will slowly self-discharge. A battery left fully depleted for an extended period may not fully recover, reducing its overall capacity and service life.
My vehicle's original battery has different markings than IAKB0522 — is this still the right one?
Very likely yes. Peg Perego contracts with multiple battery factories, so the label on your existing battery may show a manufacturer part number like RT12120 or DCM24-11 rather than IAKB0522. These are all the same battery specification. The official IAKB0522 part number appears only on the retail packaging and on a white sticker on the yellow side strap of the battery pack itself. See the cross-reference list on this page for all known OEM part numbers.
Cross Reference & Compatibility
- IAKB0522 - Peg Perego official (primary)
- SLA0204 - Cross-reference designation
- RT12120 - OEM manufacturer (Ritar) — per battery label
- DCM24-11 - OEM manufacturer (DiaMec) — earlier 11Ah spec
- DMC 24-11 - Alternate notation for DiaMec part
- 12V + 12V / 12Ah - Internal label notation (24V 12Ah/C20)
Note: DCM24-11 and DMC 24-11 refer to an earlier 11Ah version of this battery. The current IAKB0522 is rated at 12Ah and is a direct upgrade for vehicles that came with the 11Ah pack.
This battery can be used in these models:
- Gaucho Super Power (IGOD0500US)
- Gaucho Superpower (IGOD0501US)

Note: Additional 24V Peg Perego vehicles may also be compatible. Always verify by model number. If your vehicle has a 24V yellow battery that is physically similar in size to this listing and is not the Gator XUV 6x4, the IAKB0522 is very likely correct.
