Understand this charger is usually adequate for maintenance of most automotive batteries. Vehicle computers normally consume under 4 Amps of power at a time while parked. Also, while safe for AGM, the GEN series chargers do no fully volt AGM and AGM + batteries for their optimum charge. They do provide adequate charging for AGM types.
I purchased the GEN1 Mini for its smaller size and water resistance to use in a customized 1981 GMC pickup. I use a sealed lead acid battery in this truck, and there is only a very slight parked battery drain due to a remote start and security system on the pickup.
A big plus is this charger/maintainer shuts down when not needed - resting the battery. It also restarts on its own as needed, and the multiple charging stages see to a good charging balance for improved battery health. The discontinued BatteryMINDER 12151 under-hood charger/maintainers were good, but the GEN 1 smokes them in performance. This means even longer battery life with religious use of the GEN 1 Mini while the vehicle is parked.
