Product Description

Is a dead battery on a 24V truck stopping your day? Most portable jump starters only handle 12V. This heavy duty 12/24V jump starter handles both, so one pack covers your whole lot.

The Associated 6296 is a professional-grade booster pack built for shops, fleets, and roadside work.

One Pack, Every Dead Battery

Fleet and farm yards rarely stick to a single voltage. The 6296 is ideal for jump-starting cars, trucks, boats, RVs, and tractors from the same unit. Flip the switch to match the vehicle and you're ready to start.

At 24V it delivers 1,700 peak amps, so check your requirements if you're starting the largest engines.

Where It Fits

  • Fleet and shop lots with a mix of 12V and 24V vehicles
  • Mobile and roadside service trucks
  • Farms, job sites, and marinas
  • Battery swaps, where it can help preserve radio presets and computer memory

Built for Rough Use

This pack is designed to take a beating. The sealed, non-spillable batteries let you store it in any position. It works in rain, snow, heat, or cold, but for best jump-start performance, store it above 50°F.

Keep It Charged, Keep It Ready

The best way to get years out of any jump pack is to keep it charged. Recharge after every use. A full recharge takes about 24 hours, and the charger can stay plugged in indefinitely.

If the pack is sitting unused, recharge it at least every three months. Letting it sit fully drained can permanently damage the batteries.

Good to Know

At 44 lbs, this is a carry-handle workhorse, not a grab-and-go pocket pack. The leads are 44 inches, so set the pack close to the battery. Keep the selector on 12V when powering accessories. If you add an inverter, 300 watts is the maximum recommended.

Stop turning away dead-battery calls. Add the 6296 to your cart today and start both 12V and 24V vehicles with one rugged pack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the 6296 jump-start 24V systems?

A: Yes. Turn the selector to 24V for 24V systems or 12V for standard vehicles. It delivers 3,400 peak amps and 720 cold crank amps at 12V, and 1,700 peak amps and 360 cold crank amps at 24V. For the largest engines, check your starting requirements first.

How do I jump-start a vehicle with it?

A: With the ignition off and the selector switch off, connect the red clamp to the positive terminal of the weak battery. Connect the black clamp to the vehicle frame, away from belts and fans. Set the selector to the right voltage and start the vehicle. If it doesn't start within 6 seconds, let the pack cool for 3 minutes before trying again. Once running, switch the pack off and remove the negative clamp first, then the positive.

How do I charge it, and how long does it take?

A: Set the selector to 12V and plug the charger into a standard AC outlet using an extension cord (not included). The red CHARGING light comes on, and the green CHARGED light comes on when it's full. Expect about 24 hours. A brand-new unit should charge for at least 30 hours unless the green high-power light comes on when you press the test button.

Can I use it to power tools and accessories?

A: Yes, for 12V accessories with a male cigar lighter plug. The outlets have automatic overload protection. Keep the selector on 12V, and avoid draining the pack below 11V to protect battery life.

Can I replace the batteries myself?

A: Yes. Stow the clamps, remove the 10 screws on the back, and lift off the back half of the enclosure. Then disconnect the wires from the battery terminals. Red wires go to positive and black to negative. The batteries are sealed lead-acid and must be recycled properly. They're not covered by the standard 1-year limited warranty, so check Associated's terms first.
