Product Description

Whether you're running a bass boat with a trolling motor and a cranking battery, maintaining a pontoon, or keeping an ATV ready for the weekend, the Dual Pro RS3 RealPRO Series gives you a smarter way to charge. With three fully independent 6-amp banks delivering 18 amps of total output, you can charge up to three separate 12V batteries at the same time — each one getting its own dedicated charging circuit.

That independence matters more than it might seem. Because each bank operates on its own microprocessor, the RS3 can charge batteries of different ages, sizes, and states of charge simultaneously without any one battery affecting another. Plug in a nearly dead trolling motor battery alongside a nearly full starting battery, and the charger handles each one appropriately — no guessing, no risk of under- or over-charging.

One Charger, Multiple System Configurations

The RS3 is built around three 12V outputs, which gives it surprising flexibility depending on how your system is set up:

  • Three separate 12V batteries charged independently
  • A 24V trolling motor system (two batteries in series) plus a separate 12V starting battery
  • A full 36V trolling motor system using three 12V batteries in series

It's worth noting that the RS3 works with individual 12V batteries only — it is not designed for use with a single 24V or 36V battery.

Works with the Batteries You Already Have

The RS3 is compatible with wet cell (flooded), AGM, and most lithium batteries — and there's no manual switching required between battery types. For lithium batteries, the charger includes an automatic wake-up function to safely bring deeply discharged packs back online. And thanks to low 2-volt detection, the RS3 can recognize and safely begin charging a battery that has dropped as low as 2 volts — something that would stop many basic chargers in their tracks.

Note: Always confirm lithium battery compatibility with PRO Charging Systems (PCS) before use.

Waterproof and Built for Harsh Conditions

The RS3 is fully waterproof and designed for use in both fresh and salt water environments. The construction is rugged, vibration-resistant, and built to live on a boat permanently — not just sit on a shelf in your garage. Mounting flanges are included for a secure, permanent installation wherever you need it.

Automatic Charging — Set It and Forget It

Once plugged in, the RS3 takes over completely. Its multi-stage charging process brings each battery up to a full charge, then automatically shifts into a float maintenance mode to keep batteries topped off without overcharging them. LED indicators on the unit show the charge status of each bank at a glance, so you always know where things stand.

The charger is also reverse polarity protected, meaning a backwards connection won't damage the unit or your batteries — a small but meaningful safety net during installation.

Safety Certifications You Can Rely On

The RS3 meets the standards that matter most for marine use. It carries ISO 8846 Marine certification and is ignition protected in compliance with US Coast Guard regulations (33 CFR 183.410), meaning it's safe to use in enclosed engine compartments where fuel vapors may be present. It also meets FCC Part 15 Class A and B requirements for interference compliance.

Backed by a three-year manufacturer's warranty, the Dual Pro RS3 RealPRO Series is a dependable, no-fuss charging solution for anyone who wants to plug in, walk away, and come back to fully charged batteries.

Tech Tip: Using A Multi-Bank Charger

Each bank of this charger is 6 amps. Combined, this is an output of 18 amps (3 banks of 6 amps each). This is commonly used in two ways:

  • Connect each bank to separate battery systems, charging both by 6 amps each.
  • Connect both amps to the same battery system, charging it by 18 amps total.

Frequently Asked Questions

What battery types does the Dual Pro RS3 RealPRO work with?

The RS3 is compatible with wet cell (flooded), AGM, and most lithium batteries. No manual mode switching is required — the charger automatically detects the battery and adjusts accordingly. For lithium batteries, it includes an automatic wake-up function to safely recover deeply discharged packs. Always confirm lithium compatibility with PRO Charging Systems (PCS) before connecting.

Can I use the RS3 with a 24V or 36V trolling motor?

Yes. The RS3 is a popular choice for 36V trolling motor systems that use three 12V batteries wired in series. It's also well-suited for 24V setups, where two banks handle the trolling motor system and the third bank charges a separate starting battery. Keep in mind that the RS3 is designed for individual 12V outputs and will not work with a single 24V or 36V battery.

Is it safe to leave the RS3 plugged in when I'm not using my boat?

Yes. Once each battery reaches a full charge, the RS3 automatically switches to float maintenance mode, which keeps the batteries topped off without overcharging them. It's designed to stay connected long-term, making it a great option for off-season storage or boats that sit between weekend trips.

What does "ignition protected" mean, and why does it matter?

Ignition protection means the charger is designed to prevent sparks or arcs that could ignite fuel vapors in an enclosed space, such as a boat's engine compartment. The RS3 meets the US Coast Guard's ignition protection standard (33 CFR 183.410), making it safe to install in areas where gasoline fumes might be present.

What is the warranty on the Dual Pro RS3?

The RS3 comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty from PRO Charging Systems (PCS), covering defects in materials and workmanship from the date of original retail purchase.

What cables are included with the RS3?

The RS3 comes with DC charge cables measuring 5 feet per bank, connecting via ring terminals, and a 3-foot AC power cord. Ring terminals provide a clean, secure connection for permanent installation on boats or other vehicles.

I purchased this for my bass boat to charge both of my trolling motor batteries and my cranking battery. Installation was very easy and everything I needed was included. The price seemed fair and shipping was quick. I have used this brand of charger in the past with excellent results and this was no different.
