The Honda Shadow is a "cruiser" style of motorcycle made by Honda. Originally introduced in 1983 as the VT500C and VT750C, the latter was reduced to 700cc due to tariff restrictions in the US on imported Japanese bikes. This 700cc bike was sold at the VT700C. The tariff was lifted in 1985, allowing for larger engine sizes to be imported into the United States.
