Can I use an EarthX battery in my airplane?

EarthX "Hundred Series" batteries (models beginning with ETX) are designed specifically for the experimental aircraft market. They include the necessary redundancy and safety features required for aviation use. For standard powersports or racing, the ETZ series is a high-performance, cost-effective alternative.

What makes the built-in BMS so important?

The Battery Management System (BMS) acts as a brain for your battery. It monitors every cell to make sure they stay balanced. If the system detects a problem—like you accidentally leaving a switch on—the BMS will protect the battery from permanent damage, something a standard lead-acid battery cannot do.

Do I need a special charger for EarthX?

Yes. You should only use a charger designed for Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. Avoid using any charger with a "de-sulfation" or "pulse" mode, as these cycles use high voltages that can damage the lithium cells and void your warranty.

What should I do if my battery reads 0 volts?

If your ETX-series battery reads 0 volts, it’s likely the BMS has "tripped" to protect the battery from being over-discharged. You can usually reset this by using a lithium-compatible charger. Note: The ETZ-series does not have this specific protection; if an ETZ battery reaches 0 volts, it should not be recharged for safety reasons.

Are these batteries safe in hot or cold weather?
