The G7200 is a smart, 12 Step, fully automatic switch-mode battery charger and maintainer. The G7200 restores batteries to their original capacity, recovers slightly sulfated batteries, charges batteries in cold climates, rescues drained batteries, and provides maintenance charging to increase battery life. A powerful battery charger with specialized charging modes for recovering severely drained batteries that will not accept a normal charge. - Step 1: Diagnostics
Checks the battery voltage to make sure battery connections are good and the battery is in a stable condition before beginning the charge process.
- Step 2: Recovery
Initializes the Recovery process, if needed, for deeply discharged or sulfated (desulfation) batteries by pulsing small amounts of current.
- Step 3: Soft Start
Begins Bulk charging process with a gentle (soft) charge.
- Step 4-7: Bulk
The Bulk charging process continues and returns 80% of the battery capacity. Indicated by the 25%, 50% and 75% CHARGE LEDs.
- Step 8: Absorption
Brings the charge level to 90%. The battery charger will deliver small amounts of current to provide a safe, efficient charge and limit battery gassing.
- Step 9: Trickle
Battery is fully charged and ready to use, indicated by the 100% CHARGE LED being a solid Green. In this Step, the battery charger will only deliver enough current to keep the battery full. If the battery tells the charger that more current is needed, the battery charger will switch to Maintenance.
- Step 10: Maintenance
Continuously monitors the battery voltage to determine if a Maintenance charge should be initiated. If the terminal voltage falls below 12.8V (12V) and 25.6V (24V), the charger will start the Maintenance cycle until voltage reaches 14.4V (12V) and 28.8V (24V) and then discontinues the charge cycle. The cycle between Trickle and Maintenance is repeated indefinitely to keep the battery at full charge, without overcharging. The battery charger can be left connected indefinitely.

The 13.6V SUPPLY mode is used for low voltage batteries, maintenance charging or as a power supply.

The 16V BOOST mode is used to recover battery capacity from a stratified (sulfated) battery by applying a specialized high 16.5V (17V Max) voltage to soften and melt down sulfate from the battery plates so that the material becomes usable again.

I have been using BatteryMINDER products for a number of years, but they aren't as refined/sophisticated in operation as the NOCO products. In fact, this new 7200mA charger has recovered three AGM batteries my other chargers couldn't. Mind you, one was an eight year old Duracell AGM and the other was an 11 year old Odyssey PC 950 MJT. I also have a 14 year old PC 1200 MJT that has stayed at 100% thanks to using BatteryMINDER products - until recently when this battery strangely dropped to 75%. I also used the NOCO 7200mA charger and was able recover this battery back to 100% - something my BatteryMINDER.chargers couldn't do.
I've used all the features but 24 volt and Lithium on the NOCO Genius 7200mA and can attest all of these features not only work, but work well. The BatteryMINDER products just don't have a timed shutdown that is needed In maintenance - and use fewer stages. The NOCO has this added feature and a few more, plus the added charge stages, for the money.
Note: I also used the "Repair" feature on an Odyssey battery before returning the charger to AGM + mode. Nothing adverse happened using either feature with my AGM batteries. I did not use AGM + with the AGM Duracell battery as it is not a Plus type AGM battery. AGM + mode is the more aggressive mode than "Repair" in my opinion - after using a digital Amprobe meter to check what was going on in the differing NOCO Genius modes.

Charges Batteries as advertised, I like that part.
Now the Bad news:
The NOCO G7200 causes "EXTREME" Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) on the AM and Short Wave bands. When I am using the NOCO G7200 I can't receive any AM radio stations in the house. My Ham Radio operations are completely disrupted during battery charging. RFI can be heard on my car radio over 300 feet from my neighborh
I charge my 12 volt battary that gives power to my 12 volt radio in my 6 volt car. It is light weight and I can carry it into the motel with ease.
The replacement clamp connectors coupler pin faulty was replaced and received today, many thanks to Speedy Stan to get in touch with manufacturer for very swift delivery to Canada
The instructions for getting the device to initiate the different modes are well worded and clear. The mode button should be able to put the device in any mode without having to do a different hookup sequence.
