Nebo Old Red: The LED Lantern with a Realistic Flickering Flame

My daughter got one of these for a gift last year. It was SO awesome. She and I both loved that it looked like a real old time oil lantern, has a "flickering flame" in the bottom, and has variable adjustment on the brightness. She used it in blanket forts, in the tent out in the back yard, and by her bed as a nightlight.
But after about a month or so, it stopped working. I thought maybe it was because she mistreated it.

I finally ordered 2 more of these online here, one for my husband and I, and another for the kid.
We discovered that rechargeable batteries do not work in these lanterns. We tried Amazon brand, Energizer brand, and Enveloop brand. None worked. Had to go get some regular disposable batteries to use the lanterns.
After about 3 weeks one of the lamps stopped working. The dial that turns it on/off just doesn't work anymore. We tried taking it apart to see if we could figure out how to fix it. Not all of the parts come apart, some are welded together. It seems like it's poorly made inside and the wires come apart or fail easily.
We still have the other lantern for now. I don't expect it to last a long time.
For $20 I am very disappointed. I love the look of these and the flickering flame aspect, but I could not recommend them. They break entirely too easily and it's a pain to use disposable batteries.

Our theater company produced a show set in the wild west. We needed old looking, practical lanterns that would dimly light our saloon, and these worked just great. They don't put out a lot of practical general lighting, but they do set a tone/ambiance that is very pretty and dramatic. (We had to convert the fixtures from battery-operated to wired, but that was not too hard). Great lantern!

Purchased this lantern for a stage prop. It looks great and is perfect for our needs.

Everyone loves these lanterns. Would be useful during a power outage.

Love this little lantern. Love the fact that it take standard batteries but lasts a long time. It's a warm color and is dimmable. Has lots of uses for us outdoors and it's an awesome emergency light for when the power goes out.

My husband purchased this lantern for me to use as I walk back and forth from the house to the barn. My hands are normally full of things to carry and this lantern is so easy to carry - much better than a flashlight! The amount of light given off is a lot and I'm able to walk across the pasture with enough of the path lit up ahead of me. The flicker of the light is very realistic and I like the ability to control how much light is given off. I also use the light at night while I'm in the stalls and don't have to worry about it falling over as I can use stall clips on the handle.

Very realistic looking and such an excellent value! thinking about purchasing more and using as decor around the holidays. Add a ribbon and some greenery and this will look stunning! Excellent value!

It reads really well on stage. The actor can control it naturally and adjust the brightness. Definitely would purchase again
