This is a 12 volt 1 amp sealed lead acid battery charger designed to fully charge a battery and maintain it at proper storage voltage without the damaging effects caused by trickle chargers. Requires any standard 115VAC in order to operate.
These chargers are great for my fishfinder batteries, plus they are relativity small in size.
Charger behaved just as advertised. Gives feedback via LED as to whether it's currently charging the battery, or whether it's fully charged. I didn't measure charging currents but times seemed reasonable.
It is fairly heavy - I've been spoiled by lightweight switching power supplies - this one uses a sturdy transformer.
Detachable cabling is a good choice. I wanted to pack and carry the charger, which could be risky for the cables' wires if they were permanently attached to the heavy transformer, but it's easy to detach and carry both separately. Be sure to carry a small screwdriver (or pocket knife) to attach the cable's spade lugs to the terminals.
Great product, works perfectly.
I would like to buy this charger with a barrel port connector instead of the alligator clips. That would really make this charger the perfect product for my application.
Better quality than expected. I really like the screw terminals instead of potted cables, you can put other connectors on it if necessary. Cannot comment on longevity, but seems nicely made and works well.
We are using these in and industrial application. So far they are working just as advertised. We needed something that wouldn't overcharge batteries in our electric scooters. Only time will tell as it's only been a couple weeks. So far they seem to be doing the job.
right on time
Used for charging a sealed lead acid battery that is used for portable amateur radio operations.
