Reinventing Jump Starting.
The Genius Boost GB70 by NOCO is a portable, mini, pocket sized lithium-ion jump starter for 12-volt lead-acid batteries. BOOST HD is designed for larger vehicles, like trucks and SUVs, as well as many diesel engines. Integrated heavy gauge cables efficiently transfer massive power surges. The 12V "IN" port allows extremely fast in-vehicle charging. The 12V "OUT" port will power any 12V accessory, like a tire inflator, light, inverter, and more. NOCO's jump starters are powered by a High-Density NOCO Element lithium-ion battery that can hold a charge up to one year without usage, and handle over 1,000 cycles with proper charging.
Zero Sparks; Zero Compromise.
Noco designed the Genius Boost to be a safe and effective jump starter that anyone can use. The NOCO GB70 is built with a set of top-of-the-line processors, thermal sensors, and power management devices; all without sacrificing performance.
Charging the Genius Boost Jump Starter
Connect the Genius Boost Jump Starter using the included USB Charge Cable to the USB IN port and the USB car charger. Your Genius Boost Jump Starter can also be recharged from the optional USB plug. The USB IN port is rated at 2.1 Amps to ensure safe and efficient charging of the internal lithium battery. Due to FCC regulations, we recommend not to charge and discharge the unit at the same time.
The time to recharge a Genius Boost Jump Starter will differ based on the discharge level and the power source used. Actual results may vary due to battery conditions.
I had to use this jumper on a 2003 Honda Accord with a bad starter and a bad battery. Was strong enough to crank the battery while the starter gasped its last gasp. Also lightweight and compact. Very powerful though due to lithium technology. Would highly recommend.
I haven't yet used this "in anger" so to speak, on a low battery. However, it charged up fine after receiving in the mail. After reading the instructions, it is designed to be almost fool proof. I did order the two-way splitter to check the GB70 voltage. The GB150 version has a voltage readout included, but costs $100 more.
The unit dose what its supposed to. BUT it should be made clear before ordering it only works with lead-acid batterys
The noco genius boost gb70 is a serious bit of kit. it is built solidly and thoughtfully. And it works as advertized. I have used it to jump start a car with a dead battery and the vehicle started instantly, allowing me to get to a battery store where I bought a new battery, put the new battery in the trunk of the car with the dead battery, jump started the engine again, and drove home where I replaced the car battery. NOCO made the entire process work without a hitch.
This thing is just short of AMAZING. I charged it when I first got it (took about 24 hrs.) 2 months ago. I've jumped 3 gas cars, two were completely dead batteries. And the same diesel truck 3 times. My buddy's 6.0 Duramax. He just refuses to go buy 2 new batteries. After all that jump starting, this thing shows three dots (there are only four on a full charge). This thing is awesome. So I haven't re-charged it yet, because I was waiting for it to go to two dots. We will see the next time I have to jump start my buddies truck. Thanks Battery Mart, this thing is GREAT!!!!!!!!!
Had to jump my 24v diesel pick up, started right up
I bought this to have along in my Rally America competition car and had to use it a few times while out in the woods of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at the Lake Superior Performance Rally last weekend. Each time I had starting issues, I clamped the Genius on and fired the engine immediately. Its small enough that I could wrap it up and keep it in the rally car at all times. Sure came in handy when I was a long way from my service vehicle and team and short on spare time. Worked every time!
