Frequently Asked Questions
What does the "L" stand for in ETX18L?
A:The "L" stands for left-hand polarity, which indicates that the negative battery terminal is on the left and the positive is on the right when facing the front of the battery.
Do I have to charge the Big Crank ETX18L battery after it arrives?
A:While the ETX18L AGM battery comes pre-charged, it doesnât hurt to make sure it is fully charged using an AGM-compatible battery charger before your first use to ensure peak performance.
What kind of charger should I use for the ETX18L AGM battery?
A:We recommend using a smart, automatic 12V battery charger compatible with AGM batteries. Standard chargers can output high voltages, which can cause AGM batteries to overheat, vent dangerous gases, and permanently dry out.
How should I store my ETX18L battery when not in use?
A:If your motorcycle, ATV, or other vehicle will be sitting for an extended period of time, remove the battery and make sure it is fully charged before storing it in a cool, dry place. Check it periodically to ensure it does not become deeply discharged.
How should I properly dispose of my old ETX18L AGM battery?
A:Do not throw them away in the trash. You can bring the battery to auto parts stores, dealerships, and your local recycling center, and they will dispose of it properly. If you bought your battery with BatteryMart, you can also return it to us, and we will take care of it for you.

Customer Reviews
I've been using the Big Crank batteries in my bikes for several years and they work perfectly. They last longer than expected and I have no complaints.
Lots of juice right out of the box.
Bought this battery for a 1987 Honda GL1200a that I am restoring from a barn find. As I was working through getting it back running there were many cycles of the battery. Always strong and recharged quickly.
the only battery that will start my 1995 ultra classic other than a hd battery. this is the second one in the past 6 years. i would highly recommend the price is right and the quality is outstanding.
It's not a long term review so time will tell. I bought this to see if it would shoe horn into a 1971 BMW R75/5 battery box with the contingency that I could probably squeeze it into a 1972 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport battery tray if it didn't. Sadly, it is slightly too wide for the BMW, so I learned from this experiment that you can trust the listed dimensions. It's also a very tight squeeze into the Guzzi but it did fit. The V7 Sport came from the factory with high compression pistons and the previous new battery, not from Battery Mart and originally bought for the BMW and now put back in the BMW, didn't have enough CCA to reliably turn the Guzzi engine through it's compression stroke when cold starting it and sometimes needed a second push on the button to coax it through, but was ok turning over the BMW. The Big Crank battery has no problem at all cold or hot so it's an obvious improvement and I would say one can trust the rated CCA. I got lucky with it fitting in the Guzzi but if any other V7 Sport owner is contemplating inserting this battery I can't entirely recommend it because it was a super tight fit in mine and there are small differences between years of this bike so measure carefully. For any cross reference battery listed on the page, I'd totally recommend it. Fast and free shipping, too.
Great battery lot's of cranking power thanks for making a great product
Seems to turn the bike over a little faster than the old one. So far so good.
