Tech Tip: Easy Side Mount Installations
This battery is supplied with unique terminal hardware (2 spacers and 2 bolts for cable to terminal connection). This hardware is required for proper installation on certain applications. Other hardware may damage terminals and should not be used. The spacers are required for side mount cable installation only! The top mount position does not require the round spacers, use supplied bolts only. Torque bolts to 6 to 8 ft. lbs.
How A Side Mount Looks when Installed:
Quick shipping and seems like a high-quality product. Bike starts right up now.
It was the same size as my original Kawasaki battery so I didn't have to modify anything. The battery cable needed to be bent as the new battery terminals are wider. It came packed in a sturdy box with heavy duty packing.
The battery fit like a glove and started the motorcycle immediately. The only problem I ran into was the negative cable that I had to flatten with a pair of vise grips since I needed an additional 1 inch to make it work in its existing form.
AGM's are always a bit of a gamble, but this private label Deka has been fine for me. Mine's about 2.5 years old. I keep it on a tender most of the time. The original AGM battery in my 2011 was shot in 3 years from new.
The Panasonic AGM batteries are the best I have ever used. Not sold in the US as a vehicle battery, but their "stand-by use" batteries can be used in bikes, if you can determine the right size. Old airhead BWM owners have used them for many years. I have one that's over 11 years old sitting around. A brief top off twice a year keeps it fully charged.
So far great. Had another import battery that was just over a year old and it wouldn't hold a charge any longer. Got it from a national auto store chain. The Big Crank turned over the bike (which was sitting for a year) on the first turn. Will definitely get one for my Triumph Storm when the time comes - assuming the Big Crank lasts.
Battery was delivered as on time, charged and packed well.
I have these batteries on all of my motorcycles and wouldn't consider using any other brand.
Tried buying Made In USA and it bit me in the ass. This battery is approximately 2/3 of an inch too tall and while I got it to fit I cannot use the battery cover. Going to have to find a way to cover the terminals because if metal crosses them its going to get hot! It looks like a fine battery with really nice terminals. Just a bit tall for my application.
