Honda manufactured the Gold Wing GL1200 from 1983 to 1987. They were facing pressure from their competition (namely Yamaha). Honda unveiled the 1984 Gold Wing that pushed its four-cylinder design to the limits.

There are a couple of different models they produced during time:

  • GL1200 Standard
  • GL1200I Interstate
  • GL1200A Aspencade
  • GL1200L LTD (Limited Edition)

The GL1200 Standard was only produced for one year, 1984, as sales decreased due to the Interstate and Aspcade models. Overall, the GL1200 models were designed to be more nimble, produce more power and torque, and reduce noise and vibration.
